Med Cast Specialists: Learn Right. Heal Right.

Our Vision

Created by Clinicians. Designed to Raise the Standard of Orthopedic Casting.

MedCast Specialists was founded by a team of orthopedic experts—surgeons, physician assistants, and casting technicians—who recognized a major gap in hands-on, high-quality casting and splinting education. Frustrated by inconsistent training and outdated resources, they set out to create a comprehensive program that empowers healthcare providers with the skills, confidence, and clinical precision needed in real-world orthopedic care.

Today, MedCast delivers expert-led training to providers across the country through both in-person courses and flexible online learning options.

What types of courses or certifications do you offer?

We offer a full range of casting and splinting courses, from basic to advanced levels, covering both upper and lower extremities, pediatrics, and specialty techniques.

Our trainings do not include continuing education units (CEUs) YET but do include a Certificate of Completion, which many employers recognize for skill validation and compliance.

Are your instructors medically certified and experienced in real-world settings?

Yes. All our instructors are licensed healthcare professionals—including orthopedic technologists, physical therapists, and athletic trainers—with years of hands-on experience in hospitals, clinics, and trauma settings. Their goal is to teach real-world techniques that go beyond theory.

Can you come on-site to train our staff, or do you only offer online classes?

We offer flexible training options to fit your needs. That includes on-site team training, live virtual sessions, and on-demand modules for individual learners. Our on-site programs are especially popular with hospitals, urgent care centers, and educational institutions looking to train multiple staff members at once.

What materials and tools are included with your courses?

All in-person trainings include hands-on practice with real casting and splinting materials, such as fiberglass, plaster, padding, and stockinette. For virtual participants, we offer optional training kits shipped in advance, so learners can follow along with their own supplies during the session.

How long is the training and how many staff members can participate?

Most courses range from 4-hour workshops to 2-day intensives, depending on the skill level and depth of content. On-site trainings typically accommodate 5 to 25 participants, but we can scale up or down based on your needs. Custom training packages are available for larger teams or multi-location organizations.

Do your trainings comply with industry standards or guidelines (e.g., AAOS, NATA)?

Yes. Our curriculum is aligned with standards set by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), and other recognized professional bodies. This ensures your team learns evidence-based, compliant techniques that meet clinical and safety expectations.
